A Few Days in Singapore

Hawker Stalls & High Rises

Singapore surprised me in the best way. From the moment I landed, everything felt effortless—it’s practically a cashless society. Trains, coffee, even street food? Just a quick tap of my card or phone. No fumbling with coins, just smooth exploring.

If you ever find yourself on a long layover, don’t underestimate Changi Airport. The Jewel’s indoor waterfall is hypnotic, and if you can pull yourself away, the airport even offers free city tours. I love that idea—arriving somewhere new, stepping out to actually explore, then heading to your next destination with more than just another passport stamp.

Once in the city, I wandered through its neighborhoods: the futuristic glow of Gardens by the Bay, the colorful chaos of Little India, and the historic charm of Chinatown. Each one felt like stepping into a different world.

But the food—that’s what left the biggest mark. Hawker stalls aren’t just cheap and delicious, they’re part of Singapore’s identity. Sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with locals, eating chicken rice and laksa, I felt like I got a true taste of the city’s soul.

And then came the highlight of my trip dinner in the sky. Suspended high above the city, I enjoyed an incredible meal while watching Singapore sparkle beneath me. The food was unforgettable on its own, but paired with panoramic views of the skyline and the Marina Bay Sands lit up at night—it felt surreal. It’s not every day you can say you had world-class cuisine while dangling above a city skyline in a cable car.

Singapore may be small, but it’s endlessly layered. In just a couple of days, I experienced sleek skylines, cultural traditions, and flavors I’ll be dreaming about long after leaving—and that dinner in the sky will forever be one of my favorite travel memories.
